A New Generation of Winemakers
In 2021, Marisa and Patrick acquired Clos de la Barbanne, a boutique vineyard in Montagne Saint-Émilion AOC with a reputation for high quality wines.
Clos de la Barbanne is situated on gentle, south-facing slopes with varying soil character: this mix of limestone, clay, and sandy soils gives the wines great concentration and elegance. Old-vine Merlot dominates the vineyard plantings, but a small proportion of 80+ year old Cabernet Franc vines lend complexity to the blend.
The owners take great pride in their hand-crafted wines and are committed to environmentally responsible practices by seeking out eco-friendly ways to grow grapes and produce Concerto.
Each step in the vineyard and the cellar is meant to unveil the true character of soil and the wine.

Our Savoir-Faire

Our grapes
We pamper our grapes, from their blooming to the final handpicking. Only a few grapes are allowed on each vine, to enjoy space and sunshine.

Our corks
Corks are the wine’s best friend. We treat Concerto with the best natural cork stoppers.
They offer the right hermetical seal to favor proper ageing.

Our barrels
The barrels are exclusively made of French Oak. Our Coopers are rooted in sustainable forest management.

Our aging method
French oak barrels give subtle and spicy notes to the wine.
Concerto ages 18 months in a temperature controlled barrel cellar.
